Dor, razão da procura aos serviços de saúde por um grande contingente de pessoas. O estudo objetivou investigar o conhecimento e as intervenções utilizados pelos enfermeiros para amenizar a dor dos pacientes. Pesquisa qualitativa, exploratório-descritiva, realizada com enfermeiros de hospital e rede básica de saúde. Os dados foram coletados por entrevistas semi-estruturadas, emergindo categorias de significância: o conhecimento da dor pelo enfermeiro; intervenções utilizadas para amenizar a dor e limites e potencialidades no cuidado da dor. Investimentos devem ser direcionados para amenizar o sofrimento causado pela dor, tanto em conhecimento como na ampliação de medidas ou de tecnologias de cuidado.
Pain, reaon of the search to the service of health by a big contingent of persons. The study planned to investigate the knowledge and the interventions utilized by the nurses for brighten up the pain of the patients. It researches qualitative, exploratory-descriptive carried out with nurses of hospital and basic net of health. The facts were collected by interviews are structured, emerging categories especial signification: the knowledge of the pain by the nurse; interventions utilized for brighten up the pain and limits and potentials in the pain. Investments should be directed for brighten up the suffering caused by the pain, somuch in knowledge as in the enlargement of measures or of technologies of care.
