La autora hace un planteamiento necesario para mirar al niño(a) que vive con una situación crónica de enfermedad, muestra cómo esta etapa de la vida tan valiosa en la formación del ser humano, cuando se ve afectada por la cronicidad amerita de un cuidado especial, brindado por sus padres o por familiares más cercanos, donde requiere de un acompañamiento y formación que les permitan estar listos para afrontar un cuidado de calidad a los niños en esta situación. El articulo se orienta más a la importancia de la preparación y acompañamiento que el profesional de enfermería debe hacer a los padres y familiares con el objetivo de ofertar al niño un cuidado que le permita mantener una mejor calidad de vida.
The author present a necessary approach when looking at a child that has to live in a critical illness situation. It shows how this valuable stage of life, which provides formation in becoming a full human being, when such stage is affected by a critical condition, it requires special care by parents or their close relatives. The child needs not only, formation but also, company so that they all get ready to face and receive quality care for the child. The article is oriented towards the importance the nurse has in preparing and assisting the parents and relatives so that they can provide child care that would let the youngster have a better life quality.
