A prática do autocuidado pelo cliente nefropata diabético

Estudos descritivos, desenvolvidos com 30 pacientes, em uma unidade de referência em Diabetes Mellitus em Fortaleza/CE, no período de julho e agosto de 2004. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevista semi-estruturada, e analisados no programa Epi-info 6.6.A dieta e o fator psicológico constituíram-se, para os nefropatas, como sendo os maiores obstáculos ao tratamento e o fator financeiro a causa principal e limitante à consecução deste. Concluímos que urge uma educação mais intensa, contextualizada à realidade vivida de forma a contribuir para a auto-suficiência e melhoria da qualidade de vida do portador de nefropatia diabética.
It is a descriptive study, developed with 30 patients, in a reference unit for diabetes mellitus in Fortaleza/Ce, in the period from July to August 2004. Data were collected through semi-structured interview and analyzed through the program Epi-Info 6.6. The diet and the psychological factor represented for the nephropathy bearers the biggest obstacles to the treatment, and the financial factor the main and limiting cause to its execution. We concluded that it is necessary a more intense education, contextualized with the reality, in order to contribute to the diabetic nephropathy bearers self-sufficiency and quality of life enhancement.
