Empatía en la relación enfermera-paciente: perspectiva de los patrones del conocimiento de Barbara Carper

A través de las relaciones interpersonales, las personas buscan la aceptación y pertenencia a pares, proceso que involucra el intercambio de ideas, pensamientos y sentimientos que los identifica como parte importante de un contexto. Barbara Carper establece cuatro patrones del conocimiento que permiten clasificar, clarificar, explorar y analizar las diversas situaciones donde se desarrolla la disciplina, favoreciendo con esto la implementación de un cuidado holístico. El patrón personal se visualiza en la presente narrativa cuando la enfermera a través del autoconocimiento, busca la identificación de las necesidades reales de la adolescente con la exploración de información confiable. El patrón empírico se aborda en el momento en el cual la enfermera, a través de sus conocimientos científicos y de experiencia, busca satisfacer las necesidades de la adolescente y la recién nacida de una manera biopsicosocial. El patrón estético se presenta cuando la enfermera muestra empatía con la adolescente, haciéndola sentir persona y madre a la vez, y por último el conocimiento ético se identifica en el momento donde a pesar de que la enfermera se entera por fuentes no directas de la situación de la paciente, no realiza algún juicio o crítica sin antes buscar la información certera sobre lo que la adolescente estaba viviendo. La narrativa de enfermería a través de los patrones funcionales de Barbara Carper permite la identificación de fenómenos de salud presentes en la práctica clínica y como consecuencia el desarrollo de habilidades, evaluar las actitudes y aptitudes en el cuidado de las personas.
People seek through interpersonal relationships, acceptance and belonging to peers, a process that involves the exchange of ideas, thoughts and feelings that identifies them as an important part of a context. Barbara Carper establishes four patterns of knowledge that allow classifying, clarifying, exploring and analyzing the different situations in which the discipline develops, thus favoring the implementation of holistic care. The personal pattern ¡s visualized in the present narrative when the nurse through the self-knowledge seeks the identification of the real needs of the adolescent with the exploration of reliable Information. The empirical pattern is addressed at the moment in which the nurse through her scientific knowledge and experience seeks to meet the needs of the adolescent and newborn in a bio psychosocial way. The aesthetic pattern is presented when the nurse shows empathy with the adolescent, making her feel person and mother at the same time and finally the ethical knowledge is identified at the moment where despite the nurse learns from sources not direct the situation of the patient, does not make any judgment or criticism without first looking for the correct information about what the adolescent was living. Nursing narrative through the functional patterns of Barbara Carper allows the identification of health phenomena present in clinical practice and as a consequence the development of skills, assessing attitudes and skills in caring for people.
