Objetivo:
conhecer as percepções do tutor da Estratégia Amamenta e Alimenta Brasil com relação à implementação da estratégia no município de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Metodologia:
trata-se de um estudo qualitativo do tipo exploratório descritivo. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul e da Prefeitura Municipal de Porto Alegre, sob CAAE: 34170014.8.3001.5338. A coleta de dados foi realizada mediante entrevista
semiestruturada com 13 tutores. Para a análise foi utilizada a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados:
Identificou-se a existência de fragilidades no que se refere ao papel do tutor que também necessita de maior apoio da gestão, a fim de desempenhar seu papel, além disso, verificou-se a necessidade de educação permanente dos profissionais que atuam nas unidades de saúde. Considerações finais:
para o êxito da implementação da Estratégia Amamenta e Alimenta Brasil é necessário o fortalecimento do papel do tutor, a
educação permanente das equipes de saúde e a priorização da estratégia no plano municipal de saúde.

It was identified the existence of weaknesses regarding the role of the tutor who also needs greater support from management in order to play their role, in addition, there was the need for continuing education of professionals working in the units of health. Consideration finales:
For the successful implementation of the Brazil Breastfeeding and Food Strategy, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the guardian, the permanent education of health teams and the
prioritization of the strategy in the municipal health plan.
