Objetivo:

Identificar as evidências científicas que abordam os sentimentos dos familiares de pacientes em tratamento paliativo.

Método:

Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, que consiste em um método que permite a síntese de múltiplos estudos sobre determinado tema, de forma sistematizada. A seleção ocorreu nas bases de dados BDENF, PubMED, SciELO e BVS. Foram utilizados os descritores “Oncologia, Pacientes, Família e Emoções”, em associação dos operadores booleanos AND e OR, em português: “Pacientes” AND “Família” OR “Emoções”.

Resultados:

Foi analisado 113 artigos, dos quais 6 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão, destacando a percepção dos sentimentos vivenciados pelos familiares.

Conclusão:

O estudo identificou a importância do cuidador familiar dos pacientes em cuidados paliativos. O impacto do diagnóstico de uma patologia gera um choque profundo nos familiares cuidadores, desencadeando uma série de emoções intensas, como medo, angústia, insegurança, impotência e dor profunda.(AU)

This is an integrative review, which consists of a method that allows the systematic synthesis of multiple studies on a given topic. The selection was made in the BDENF, PubMED, SciELO and BVS databases. The descriptors “Oncology, Patients, Family and Emotions” were used, in association with the Boolean operators AND and OR, in Portuguese: “Pacientes” AND “Família” OR “Emoções”.

Results:

113 articles were analyzed, of which 6 met the inclusion criteria, highlighting the perception of the feelings experienced by family members.

Conclusion:

The study identified the importance of family caregivers of patients undergoing palliative care. The impact of the diagnosis of a pathology generates a profound shock in family caregivers, triggering a series of intense emotions, such as fear, anguish, insecurity, helplessness and deep pain.(AU)
