Objetivo:
identificar o conhecimento dos discentes de Enfermagem sobre cuidados paliativos. Métodos:
trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa descritiva e exploratória que foi realizado em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Privada de Teresina-PI, com 23 acadêmicos do 9º período de Enfermagem. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e agrupados conforme a temática de Minayo e anaisadas pelo software IRAMUTEQ. Resultados:
após a análise das falas dos participantes emergiram três categorias intituladas: (1) Concepções dos graduandos sobre Cuidados Paliativos; (2) A integração da família nos Cuidados Paliativos; (3) A importância da abordagem de Cuidados Paliativos na graduação. O conhecimento sobre Cuidados Paliativos ainda é um pouco fragmentado e empírico, construído pela pouca prática cotidiana que tiveram. Porém, isso não os impediu de pensarem sobre as ações que poderiam ser paliativas e sobre a importância da família nestes cuidados. Conclusão:
é necessário que haja um maior número de projetos e ações dispostos a espalhar conhecimento sobre esse tema, bem como, a importância de adicionar esse tema na grade curricular dos alunos da área da saúde, em especial o de Enfermagem
