Discriminação racial - fator de risco para a hipertensão arterial?: estudo exploratório tipo survey

The importance of institutional health practices as representative or not of institutional racism in the treatment of the hypertensive client was object of this study. A survey research was conducted and the results showed that perceived discrimination was reported by 15,3% of blacks participants (p=0,01) and the clients who identify the discrimination have a odds ratio that suggest protection. The implications of these results for health professionals and managers are discussed.
Situação-problema: Desconhecimento sobre as interações dos clientes com o sistema de saúde, assim como sobre as práticas institucionais realizadas, a partir da perspectiva da clientela, com recorte por cor/raça, no sentido de evidenciar diferenciais ou disparidades na atenção à saúde dos grupos étnicos.
