This is a bibliographical research, aiming to identify and analyze the dissertations about the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and nursing presented in brazilian graduate programs, from 1980 to 2005. 128 studies were selected in on-line and digital data bases, using the descriptors ?HIV or AIDS and nursing?. The data analysis was quantitative and through thematic content analysis, according to : year of presentation; graduate programs; area of knowledge; theoretical referential; type of study; of study; subjects; and thematics. The analysis gives evidence that the majority of the studies were about HIV positive patients in hospital settings, using qualitative approaches. It is concluded that there is a need for more reflections on the methodological approaches and the thematics related at the HIV/AIDS.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, objetivando identificar e analisar dissertações e teses apresentadas em programas de pós-graduação brasileiros, abordando o HIV/AIDS e enfermagem, no período de 1980 a 2005. Foram identificadas 128 pesquisas em bases de dados on-line e digital (CD-ROM) utilizando como descritores AIDS or HIV and enfermagem. Na apuração dos dados realizou-se análise quantitativa e de conteúdo temática de acordo com: ano de apresentação; área de conhecimento e o programa de pós-graduação; base teórica; tipo de estudo; campo de estudo; sujeitos; e temática. Os resultados apontam a maioria dos estudos sendo desenvolvidos com portadores de HIV/AIDS em hospitais com a utilização da abordagem qualitativa. Conclui-se ser necessário um aprofundamento das abordagens metodológicas e das temáticas relacionadas ao HIV/AIDS.
