The present study analyzes the process of the nurse work, classifying and quantifying the types of activities accomplished by this professional in a Inward Surgical Unit of the Hospital de ClÝnicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA). From this study on we point out alternatives to improve life quality in work and the quality of the patient care.
