The family keeps aspects of violence, lived deeply in its inward, that comes from external interferences, or reproduced through socialization process. Such question gains great relevance for being current and remote, dating of long centuries and from diverse places. Considering this, the methodology presented here assumes significant importance, when treating to the violence parallel to the citizenship and assistance. The aim of this study was, through a bibliographical research of exploratory dimension, identify in the family its citizenship, as in this end of century the expressive number of people who live to the margin of a life that satisfies the human beings necessities, still search in the familiar group an alternative way of survival. Through a brief historic description, it was perceived that the understanding of family and its real constitution is articulated to some type of violence, such a working, racial, of gender or of authority and power. The family was and is marked by specific interests of groups that, for maintenance of its "status quo", use all possible artifices to become hegemonic, keeping the great human contingent as ôuse substanceõ. As the family has been daily violated in its form to survive, it tends to reproduce in its inward violence forms and, despite these questions have been discussed in diverse organized segments of society, such as blacks, pastorals movement of the hand, laboring pastoral, unions movement of the human right, etc., the subject still reveals complex, demanding a bigger evolvement on the part of the diverse families and those professionals who act directly with the masses.
