This article aims to comprehend and analyze the variations that constitute the universe of the abandoned and institutionalized child, emphasizing the influences that the ties with the institutional staff exert on the childhood affection development. Forty visits were carried out in a philanthropic institution which conducts its activities to follow up children that were victims of physical and psychological abuse. It was observed that aggressively is the mediator of adult-child relationship, difficulty construction of stable relationship and authentic patterns of identification. It was concluded that it is essential to provide the staff psychological follow up, so that they can feel active agents in the promotion of promising life projects to abandoned and institutionalized children...
