The objective of this study was to comprehend how adolescents conceptualize violence. This paper reports a qualitative study on the grounded theory. The data was obtained by interview and field notes.

Five categories were extracted:

conceptualizing violence, classifying violence, evaluating violence, perceiving violence in the family and in the society, talking on TV medium violence. The central category was justifying violence.
