La investigación es una función básica de la enfermería. En México esta función se ha desarrollado paulatinamente integrándose inicialmente a los procesos de formación como herramienta para la aproximación al conocimiento. Hoy en día existe un movimiento de mayor sensibilización hacia el desarrollo de una cultura de investigación en enfermería. La Investigación anteriormente estuvo obstaculizada por la falta de experiencia y conocimientos básicos dados en el método científico. El nivel de dominio que las enfermeras pueden lograren el quehacer diario Irá de acuerdo a su preparación en este campo. Los niveles identificados de principiante, competente, hábil y experto, aplicados al proceso y requerimientos de la Investigación y a las bases conceptuales de la disciplina permiten distinguir claramente los niveles de competencia. Este artículo describe las competencias, roles, Intervenciones y actividades, de cada Integrante, acordes a su formación. Investigares un proceso integral que requiere conocer, describir y explicar la realidad; pero, además, capaz de predecir causas y efectos que permitan modificar esa realidad. La investigación es fundamental para el desarrollo de la enfermería y por ello se debe tener la necesidad de transformar la realidad, tener formación académica, desarrollar gradualmente líneas de investigación y hacer estudios en grupo. Con ello se afrontará el reto para sustentar la práctica en la teoría derivada de la investigación.
Research is a basic function in nursing. In Mexico, this function has been developing in a progressive way. Initially, research in nursing was implemented to the formation processes as a tool to get the knowledge. Up to now this Is the strongest way of sensitization to promote the develop of a nursing investigation culture. Research has been affected by the experience and their basic knowledge on this field. The dominion level that nurses can obtain In their everyday work depends directly on their level of preparation and formation. The different levels of beginner, competent, skillful and expert, applied to the process and requirements of investigation, as well to the conceptual basis of the discipline, let to clearly distinguish the levels of competency. Research is an integral process that allow to know, discover and explain the reality, but It must also be cape able to produce the causes and effects that allow to modified that reality too. This article describes the competences, rolls, interventions and activities whit which each person, according his formation, can participate in this function. Research Is very important to make nursing grow as a profession, and that is the reason why one must have the necessity to transform the reality, to have a good academic formation, to gradually develop new lines of investigation, and do research in group-By doing so, it would be possible to put in practice the theory based on research.
