Adolescência, o adolescer e o adolescente: re-significação a partir da determinação social do processo saúde-doença

Este estudo, de referencial materialista histórico e dialético, inscreve-se na perspectiva da redefinição da adolescência, tal como se coloca para a intervenção em saúde. Reconhecendo o caráter transdisciplinar dessa tarefa, tomou como objeto privilegiado a assistência de enfermagem ao adolescente, propondo-se a apreendê-lo por intermédio da análise do conhecimento produzido no nível de pós-graduação em enfermagem stricto sensu no Brasil. O material empírico foi constituído por 22 dissertações de mestrado relativas à temática produzidas no decênio 1984-1994.
Nelas foram buscados os conteúdos das categorias conceituais:
ser humano, sociedade, adolescência/adolescente, processo saúde-doença, enfermagem/assistência de enfermagem e as propostas de intervenção dirigidas a esse grupo populacional. Verificou-se que tais categorias guardam estreita consonância com o referencial positivista, presente em 21 dos trabalhos analisados. Os conceitos de ser humano e de sociedade resultam e reproduzem uma visão essencialista, idealista e naturalista da realidade. Predominam concepções da adolescência como fenômeno universal e o adolescente é definido por oposição à criança e ao adulto, com ênfase no paradigma médico-biológico para a interpretação do seu processo saúde-doença. Identifica-se a persistência de elementos do saber nightingaliano orientando as propostas da intervenção de enfermagem que, por sua vez, enfatizam a educação em saúde. A recomposição histórica daconstituição dos conceitos e de sua vinculação com as práticas que os legitimaram permitiu agregar novos significados às categorias conceituais.
This study, of historical and dialectic referential, was written from the perspective of the redefinition of adolescence, and how it fits into health intervention. Recognizing the transdisciplinary characteristic of this task, the objective of this work is to contribute to the nursing of adolescent, learning by analysing works produced within Brazilian academic nursing studies. the empirical material consisted of 22 Master dissertations with themes related to adolescence, from the decade 1984-1994. Investigated were the content of conceptual categories such as human being, society, adolescence/adolescent, heath/illness process, nursing/nursing care and the proposals of intervention driven towards this population. observed was a narrow consonance between the content of these categories and the scientific referential of positivism which oriented 21 of the dissertations analysed. There was a predominant concept of adolescence as a universal phenomenon and the adolescent was defined in opposition both to the child and to the adult, with emphasis on the medical biological paradigm for the interpretation of its health-ilness process. Identified was the persistence of nightingale knowledge elements oriented the nursing intervention proposals which in turn emphasized health education. The historical reconstruction of the concepts as well as their correspondence to practice permitted the formulation of new significance to the conceptual categories.
