Cuidar para enfermeiros de UTI Neonatal: descrição das categorias significantes

Esta pesquisa surgiu da inquietude da pesquisadora em descobrir qual o significado que a experiência de "cuidar" tem para os enfermeiros de uma unidade de tratamento intensivo neonatal. Com o objetivo de descobrir as categorias que integram o significado se empregou a metodologia da Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. Sob esta ótica, doze enfermeiros foram observados e entrevistados, possibilitando a identificação de dez categorias que descrevem a interpretação que o referido profissional faz das interações com o recém-nascido e sua respectiva família.
Estas são:
gostando de cuidar de recém-nascido, cuidando de uma forma diferente, sendo estimulado pelo contexto, tendo que ser competente, procurando conciliar técnica com sentimentos, facilitando o contato entre o recém-nascido e a família, preocupando-se em não dar conta de tudo, sendo afetado pelas intercorrências, envolvendo-se e mantendo uma atitude profissional.
What means the experience of caring to the nurses of the neonatal intensive care unit? This was the question of our research. The Grounded Theory was a research methodology to find the categories that comprise the meaning. Twelve practicing staff nurses were observed and interviewed during our research that resulted in ten categories which describe nurses' explanations of newborn and its family interactions: enjoying to care of a newborn, caring of a different way, being instigate for the context, having to be efficient, looking for join techniques an feeling, facilitating the contact between the newborn and the family, caring with not accounting at all, being affected by the happenings, involving and keeping a professional attitude.
