Comunicação intrafamiliar no processo de terminalidade: um estudo qualitativo acerca do final de vida/morte

A família desenvolve uma sinergia onde cada um dos membros tem o seu lugar, independentemente da sua estrutura. Perante a doença grave ou a morte de um dos seus membros, o equilíbrio da unidade familiar é quebrado, implicando uma mudança global e qualitativa do sistema.
Com a pretensão de operacionalizar uma metodologia que possibilite analisar as reflexões dos familiares foi definido o objetivo geral:
Reconhecer os sentidos e significados do processo de comunicação intrafamiliar em torno da experiência de morte, numa amostra de conveniência na Rede Nacional de Cuidados Continuados Integrados (RNCCI). Operacionalizou-se um estudo qualitativo e fenomenológico, através da aplicação de um Guião de Entrevista Semi-estruturada elaborado pela investigadora. Os construtos discursivos emergentes das entrevistas foram submetidos à análise de conteúdos segundo Fairclough. Após a análise de conteúdo às componentes discursivas emergentes das entrevistas efetuadas, aos nove sujeitos que constituem a amostra deste estudo emergiram onze categorias de primeira geração e dezanove subcategorias de segunda geração e cinquenta e oito categorias de terceira geração. Atendendo aos objectivos formulados emergiram duas componentes categoriais, de destacar o “Dar sentido ao fenómeno de morte/terminalidade” e “Entre a perceção e a expressão”, esta última expressa nas subcategorias, “Verbal” e “Não Verbal”.
The family develops a symmetry where each member has its place, regardless of its structure. Faced with the serious illness or death of one of its members, the balance of family unity is broken, implying a global and qualitative change of the system. With the pretension to operationalize a methodology that allows to analyze the reflections of the relatives, the general objective was defined: To recognize the meanings and meanings of the intrafamily communication process around the experience of death, in a convenience sample in the National Network of Continuing Integrated Care (RNCCI). A qualitative and phenomenological study was carried out through the application of a Semi-structured Interview Guide developed by the researcher. The discursive constructs emerging from the interviews were submitted to content analysis according to Fairclough. After the content analysis of the discursive components emergent from the interviews, the nine subjects that comprise the sample of this study emerged eleven first generation categories and nineteen second generation subcategories and fifty eight third generation categories. In view of the objectives formulated, two categories have emerged, such as “Making sense of the phenomenon of death / termination” and “Between perception and expression”, which is expressed in the subcategories “Verbal” and “Nonverbal”.
