A infecção pelo HIV/AIDS tem provocado pânico e desafios à humanidade, porém tem proporcionado a reflexão sobre o resgate da dimensão subjetiva do ser humano, retrato do que sente, do que pensa e de como age a pessoa diante da realidade experienciada. Frente a isso, o presente estudo teve como objetivos: compreender o significado da sexualidade para mulheres portadoras do HIV/AIDS e descrever o modo como essas mulheres vivenciam sua sexualidade após o diagnóstico da infecção. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo, que teve como referencial teórico a Teoria das Representações Sociais, na perspectiva da Psicologia Social, e como método de análise respaldou-se na análise de conteúdo, de Bardin. A representação da sexualidade foi revelada como sexo genital e compartilhado, porém com dimensões diferenciadas em dois momentos, antes e após a infecção pelo HIV. Os resultados encontrados mostram a vivência da sexualidade permeada pelo conflito diante da possibilidade da revelação da sua condição sorológica, provocando medo de se relacionarem com outras pessoas que não vivenciem seu mesmo problema. É descrita ainda, como difícil e traumática, provocando transformações. A via sexual, modo pelo qual essas mulhres se infectaram, denunciou uma violação moral ligada à noção de irresponsabilidade, pois, em nome das paixões, do prazer e da própria vida, transgrediram as normas cristãs e as determinações da ciência, o que as faz se manter prisioneiras da culpa. Esse estudo nos permitiu refletir sobre a individualidade afetivo-sexual da mulher portadora do HIV/AIDS e nos alertou para aspectos que são considerados "periféricos" na história de algumas doenças, porém, constituem ponto de relevância quando se trata da vivência da sexualidade num contexto marcado pela AIDS
The infection for the HIV/AIDS has provoked panic and challenges to the humanity, however it has proportionate the reflection on the rescue of the subjective dimension of the human being, a picture of what he feels, of what he thinks an of how he acts beyond the experienced reality. On this concern, the present study had as objectives: to understand the meaning of the women sexuality for carrying HIV/AIDS and to describe the way as these women deeply live their sexuality after the diagnosis of the infection. One is about a research of qualitative matrix, which had as theoretical reference the Theory of the Social Representations, in the perspective of Social Psychology, and as analysis method was endorsed in the content analysis, of Bardin. The representation of the sexuality was disclosed as genital and shared sex, however with differentiated dimensions at two moments, before and after the infection for the HIV. The joined results show the experience of the sexuality interposed by the conflict of the revelation of the possibility of her immunological condition, provoking fear of relating with other people who do not live deeply the exactly problem. It is still described, as difficult and traumatic, provoking modification. The sexual way, mode for wich these women got infected denounced a moral breaking to the notion of irresponsability, therefore, on behalf of the passions, of the pleasure and their proper lives, had transgressed the Christian rules and the determination of sciences, fact that makes them to become prisioners of the guilt. This study allowed us to reflect on the affective-sexual individuality of the carrying women of HIV/AIDS and it alerted them for aspects that are considered peripheral in the history of some illnesses, however, they constitute revelant point when one is about to experience the sexuality in a context marked by the AIDS
