A busca da graduação em enfermagem como opção dos técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem

Atualmente nos deparamos com mudanças significativas na sociedade que se refletem no cotidiano e no trabalho dos indivíduos. Essas pessoas procuram acompanhá-las porque suas vidas são diretamente influenciadas por elas. A escolha por este tema deveu-se à minha vivência desde a época da graduação, quando já observava o ingresso de técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem no curso superior de enfermagem. Hoje, como enfermeira, percebo que este ingresso está cada vez mais crescente. O objetivo deste estudo foi apreender os motivos que levaram o técnico e auxiliar de enfermagem a buscarem a graduação nesta profissão. Realizado em um hospital escola, no município de São Paulo, sob a perspectiva da pesquisa qualitativa, este estudo teve como metodologia a História Oral temática e a Análise Categorial Temática. Participaram onze colaboradores, sendo três técnicas de enfermagem e oito auxiliares de enfermagem.
Por meio de suas narrativas conheci os fatores que os motivaram a escolher a enfermagem como profissão:
desejo que se manifestou na infância, forte influência materna, a enfermeira como modelo e a descoberta vocacional. Cursar a graduação surge como crescimento pessoal, profissional e como uma forma de buscar conhecimento. A importância do papel do enfermeiro é considerada ampla e repleta de conhecimento. A experiência na vida dos colaboradores é bastante relevante durante a graduação, sendo encarada como uma prática que facilita o aprendizado. Estudar e trabalhar é muito desgastante e, além disso, não sobra tempo para os estudos, o lazer nem para o convívio familiar. Muitos colaboradores pretendem fazer cursos de pós-graduação em enfermagem. Ressalto a importância do desenvolvimento de outras pesquisas que desenvolvam o tema sobre a motivação do graduando em enfermagem com experiência prévia na mesma profissão.
We have been facing meaningful changes in the society nowadays that reflects in individuals'daily life and work. These people try to follow these changes once their life are directly influenced by them. The choice of this theme is resulted from my experience since graduation, when I already observed the nursing technicians and assistants who started their nursing graduation course. Today, as a nurse, I notice that this process is increasing more and more. The aim of this study was to understand the reasons that take both nursing technician and assistant to enter in a nursing graduation course. This study was carried out in a hospital medical school in the city of Sao Paulo, under a qualitative research perspective, and the methodologies adopted were the Thematic Oral History and the Thematic Categorical Analysis. Eleven collaborators took part of the study - three nursing technicians and eight nursing assistants. Through their story, I could understand the factors that motivated them to choose nursing as a profession: a wish manifested during chilhood, strong maternal influence, the nurse as a model and vocational discovery. Taking a graduation course appears as a personal and professional growth and as a way to search for knowledge as well. The importance of the nurse's role is considered great and full of knowledge. The experience in the collaborators' life is fairly relevant during the graduation course, and it is faced as a practice that eases the learning process. Studying and working is stressful and, besides that, there is no spare time to study, leisure and stay with the family. Many collaborators intend to take post-graduation courses on nursing. I point out the importance of carrying out further researches that approach the theme with regard to the motivation of the nursing grad-student with previous experience in the same profession.
