Dificuldades Sentidas pelos pais no cuidado à criança no primeiro ano de vida

No exercício da parentalidade os pais vêem-se confrontados com dificuldades no
cuidado ao filho, que poderão ser ultrapassadas se obtiverem o apoio necessário.
O presente estudo tem como objetivos analisar as relações existentes entre as
dificuldades sentidas pelos pais no cuidado à criança no primeiro ano de vida e as características
dos pais, da criança e dos recursos utilizados para as ultrapassarem, conhecer as dificuldades
dos pais no cuidado à criança no primeiro ano de vida e identificar os recursos dos pais para
ultrapassarem essas dificuldades. Se os profissionais de saúde tiverem conhecimento das
dificuldades dos pais, podem atuar em consonância com essas necessidades.
Para a realização deste estudo recorreu-se a uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a
parentalidade positiva e cuidados antecipatórios no primeiro ano de vida da criança.
O método utilizado na pesquisa foi do tipo descritivo, quantitativo, correlacional e
transversal. A colheita de dados foi feita junto de uma amostra não probabilística acidental de
pais de crianças até um ano de idade, que recorrem ao Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde Cova
da Beira e que têm os filhos inscritos nos infantários do concelho da Covilhã e Belmonte. Este
estudo teve uma amostra de 150 pais. O instrumento de colheita de dados utilizado foi o
questionário. O tratamento dos dados permitiu confirmar a fiabilidade do questionário e criar
uma escala de dificuldades dos pais no cuidado à criança no primeiro ano de vida.
Os resultados obtidos indicam que os pais apresentam baixa dificuldade no cuidado à
criança no primeiro ano de vida e que os recursos de apoio mais utilizados são o companheiro, a
família, o médico e o enfermeiro.
As dificuldades percecionadas pelos pais não se encontram relacionadas com sua a
idade, residência, escolaridade e estado civil. Os resultados mostram relação entre as
dificuldades dos pais e o facto de terem outros filhos. Também indicam relação entre as
dificuldades dos pais e a idade do irmão mais novo da criança em estudo. Foi encontrada
relação, estatisticamente significativa, entre as dificuldades sentidas pelos pais relativamente à
idade e sexo do filho com menos de 1 ano e aos recursos utilizados.

under one year of age who use the Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde Cova da Beira and who
have children enrolled in kindergartens in the city of Covilhã and Belmonte. This study had a
sample of 150 parents. The data collection instrument used was the questionnaire. Data analysis
allowed to confirm the reliability of the questionnaire and create a range of fathers difficulties in
child care in the first year of life.
The results indicate that parents have low difficulty in child care in the first year of life
and the most used support features are the partner, the family, the doctor and the nurse.
The difficulties perceived by parents are not related to their age, residence, education
and marital status. The results show the relationship between the difficulties of parents and the
fact that they have other children. Also indicate the relationship between the difficulties of
parents and the age of the youngest child in study brother. Relationship was found statistically
significant between the difficulties experienced by parents regarding the age and sex of child
under 1 year and the resources used
