Intervenção do enfermeiro especialista em Reabilitação na prevenção de quedas da pessoa com alterações do equilíbrio postural decorrentes da lesão neurológica

A incidência de quedas na pessoa com lesão neurológica é relevante estando estas particularmente ligadas às doenças que afectam a marcha e o equilíbrio. O AVC e o TVM foram duas das doenças analisadas nos contextos do Estágio II. Em todos estes contextos, verificou-se que o enfermeiro especialista em reabilitação tinha uma preocupação comum: a prevenção de quedas destas pessoas, constituindo esta a temática para o presente relatório. Pretende-se, assim, evidenciar as aprendizagens realizadas a partir de um processo auto-formativo, de pesquisa e reflexão sobre a prática. Recorreu-se à prática baseada na evidência, no sentido de, analisar o conhecimento mais actualizado sobre esta temática, identificado a partir da metodologia PICO. O processo de pesquisa foi realizado através da EBSCOhost Web tendo-se seleccionado as bases de dados CINAHL Plus with full text e MEDLINE Plus with Full text. Dos 20 artigos encontrados, apuraram-se 4 artigos para analisar. Da análise, conclui-se que, o enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação poderá ter um papel preponderante na capacitação e maximização das capacidades funcionais da pessoa com AVC e TVM, promovendo o equilíbrio e independência da pessoa e evitando desta forma as quedas
The incidence of falls in people with neurological injury is particularly relevant these being linked to diseases that affect gait and balance. Stroke and Spinal Cord injury were two of the diseases analyzed in the context of Stage II. In all these contexts, it was found that the specialist nurse in rehabilitation had a common concern: the prevention of falls of these people, this being the theme for this report. The aim is thus to highlight the learning that takes place from a self-training, research and reflection on practice. Appealed to the evidence-based practice, in order to, analyze the most updated knowledge on this subject identified from the PICO method. The research process was conducted through the EBSCOhost Web and it was selected the databases CINAHL Plus with Full Text and MEDLINE with Full Text Plus. Of the 20 articles found, it was found 4 items for review. From the analysis, it is concluded that the specialist nurse in rehabilitation may have a role in training and maximization of the functional capacities of people with stroke and Spinal cord injury, promoting balance and independence of the person and thus preventing falls
