Intervenções psicoeducativas pelo enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de saúde mental e psiquiátrica para promoção do insight na pessoa com esquizofrenia

A Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) estima que a esquizofrenia afeta mais de 21 milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo. Em Portugal estão cerca de 48000 pessoas diagnostica-das com esta patologia. Muitos dos indivíduos afetados pela esquizofrenia apresentam baixo insight. A diminuição do insight repercute-se negativamente na recuperação. É reconhecida a efetividade das intervenções psicoeducativas nas pessoas com esquizofrenia, nomeadamente no aumento insight. A psicoeducação é uma atividade psicoterapêutica do âmbito de intervenção do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica. Através da realização de uma revisão integrativa da literatura reuniu-se evidência científica acerca do tema. Foi concebido o Projeto de Intervenção Psicoeducativa Eureka! que se focaliza na intervenção especializada do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica na pessoa com esquizofrenia com baixo insight. O projeto referido foi elaborado com recurso á metodologia de projeto. No presente Relatório de Estágio refletiu-se sobre a importância das intervenções psicoeducativas do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica e demonstrou-se a aquisição de competências associadas à área da especialização e ao grau de mestre. Os objetivos delineados para a formulação deste Relatório foram atingidos.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that schizophrenia affects more than 21 million people worldwide. In Portugal there are about 48000 people diagnosed with this pathology. Many of the individuals affected by schizophrenia have low insight. The decrease in insight has a negative impact on recovery. The effectiveness of psychoeducational interventions in people with schizophrenia is recognized, namely in increasing insight. Psychoeducation is a psychotherapeutic activity within the scope of the Nurse Specialist in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing. By conducting an integrative literature review, scientific evidence was gathered on the topic. The Eureka! Psychoeducative Intervention Project was conceived which focuses on the specialized intervention of the Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing in the person with schizophrenia with low insight. The referred project was elaborated using the project methodology. This Internship Report reflected on the importance of psychoeducational interventions by the Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing and demonstrated the acquisition of skills associated with the area of specialization and the master's degree. The objectives outlined for the formulation of this Report have been achieved.
